The work gets done

You check it off
Every item is checked with you before we leave. You pay for the hours worked, nothing padded.
Bay Area Home Service
The people who answer the phone are the people who show up. We work the Peninsula corridor daily, know the difference between a Sunset District plaster wall and a Palo Alto Eichler panel, and quote every job before starting.
Built for Bay Area homes
- Lath-and-plaster walls in San Francisco, Burlingame, and San Mateo get plaster-rated anchors, not drywall plugs
- Eichler homes in Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, and Mountain View: no floor drilling, careful work on paneled walls
- Fog-belt windows, doors, and caulk lines repaired to stop the seasonal swell-and-stick cycle
- Renters get low-damage mounting and move-out patching that protects the deposit
- Building rules, quiet hours, and elevator bookings handled for condos and apartments
Questions people ask
How much does a handyman cost in the Bay Area?
Skilled handymen on the Peninsula usually charge $85–150 per hour, and the average handyman visit in the SF Bay Area comes to about $200. Bay Area Home Service bills by the hour at a rate below that, quoted before work starts; IKEA assembly is priced per piece. See the pricing page for the rate and typical job costs.
Is there a minimum charge or a travel fee?
The minimum is one hour. There's no travel fee anywhere inside the 14-city corridor from San Francisco to San Jose.
How fast can you come out?
Usually within the same week. Reply to any request comes within 24 hours; for same-day needs, calling is fastest.
Do you work in apartments and condos?
Yes. Most San Francisco, San Mateo, Mountain View, and San Jose jobs are in multi-unit buildings. Building rules, quiet hours, and elevator reservations are handled ahead of time.
What don't you do?
Anything requiring a permit — panel electrical, sewer lines, structural framing, roofing — is referred to a licensed trade. Everything at the fixture, wall, and furniture level is covered.
Do you bring parts and hardware?
Common hardware, anchors, plumbing fittings, weatherstripping, and caulk are on the truck and included. Specific items you want — a particular faucet or shelf — you buy and we install.
